Freelance Site Manager – £19m New Build Care Home Project, Chelmsford Location: Chelmsford, Essex Rate: Competitive (Freelance) Contract Type: Freelance / Temporary Reporting to: Project Manager About the Role Future Build Recruitment is currently seeking a Freelance Site Manager to join a £19m, 5-storey new build care home project in Chelmsford. Our client is a medium-sized, multidisciplinary construction contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality residential and healthcare developments. The project is currently around 8 months into construction – the RC frame is complete, and much of the external building fabric is finished. The next phase will focus on internal works and finishing, so we are looking for a candidate experienced in managing these stages. Key Responsibilities * Support the Project Manager in the day-to-day running of the site * Oversee subcontractor activities and ensure work is completed safely and to specification * Coordinate internal trades, ensuring programme deadlines are achieved * Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks * Maintain accurate site records and assist with H&S documentation Candidate Requirements * SMSTS – Essential * First Aid Certificate – Essential * CSCS Card – Black or White (Desirable) * Minimum 5 years’ site experience, ideally on new build residential or care home schemes * Experience managing internal and finishing phases of construction * Strong communication and organisational skills
