Senior Designer – FMCG Consumer

FutureBrand – Senior Designer

Reporting to: Designer Director

Role Purpose: You’re the plate‑spinner, you will work with a variety of team members to deliver exceptional and insightful creative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clearly communicate strategic‑led creative ideas through the creative process to deliver on a project brief.
  • Lead creative conversations and contribute to strategic ideas. Ensure you have a good understanding of the chosen idea and are able to confidently interpret it, using it as a springboard to create strong, differentiated brand solutions.
  • Experiment with new approaches and create new opportunities within projects to develop our offer and broaden & deepen our relationships with clients.
  • Provoke and push creative boundaries, bring ideas and influences from the outside world to create connected brand experiences.
  • Constantly be aware of the time allocated for you and the more junior members of the team and be in fluid conversations with the creative services manager and client servicing to ensure effective and timely delivery.
  • Ensure that our work and ideas, and that of the more junior team members, will be practical and impactful.
  • Source original photography.
  • Design across multidisciplinary applications.
  • Make logical brand‑led colour choices.
  • Create clear and concise guidelines.
  • Art‑direct the production of animation.
  • Supply WIP artwork to the realisation team.
  • Create unique illustration.
  • Oversee the development of logical, clear decks and presentations.
  • Nurture, mentor and support junior team members. Use your experience to advise the team on how to shape and deliver great work.
  • Build compelling and impactful case studies to promote us and our work to the wider design community.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the FutureBrand offering and disciplines and of our clients’ business and clearly articulate this.

Skills and Competencies

  • You are a creative thinker.
  • Competent in leading creative conversations and contributing to strategic ideas.
  • Proven experience in branding design.
  • Able to clearly communicate ideas and have strong verbal and written skills.
  • Able to build strong and effective working relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Confident at presenting.
  • Computer literate, and have good knowledge of various design software packages (e.g. Adobe) and a proactive approach to develop technical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong team player and able to deliver results through teamwork.
  • Approachable and able to use your experience to mentor others.
  • Remain calm when working under pressure and encourage others to be so as well.
