What you’ll be doing:
- Reporting to the Managing Editor, News & Emerging Tech, you’ll run a dynamic, 24/7 news gathering operation.
- You’ll assign, manage, edit and write relevant news articles for Tom’s Hardware, pitching original news analysis and features, and dig up exclusive stories.
- You’ll maintain an ongoing list of assignments, and manage freelancers and staff to ensure that articles are filed in a timely manner, and editing news content to ensure accuracy and quality, ensuring that all content adheres to journalistic standards and ethics.
Experience that will put you ahead of the curve:
- Solid knowledge of the world of CPUs and GPUs.
- A passion for news, an understanding of the urgency and importance of timely coverage, and the ability to sniff out a good story.
- An understanding of how to write news, including the Inverted pyramid, how to write a nut graf, and so on.
- The ability to judge appropriateness of content.
- IT literate with a demonstrated willingness to embrace change and work with new technology.
