My client is seeking an experienced Interim VP of Engineering to lead and stabilise its engineering organisation during an exciting period of growth. Reporting directly to the CPTO, the role oversees product engineering, platform engineering and IT functions.
The successful candidate will manage a sizeable team of Engineering Managers, Technical Leads and Engineers whilst ensuring engineering delivery aligns with commercial objectives such as revenue growth, operational efficiency, delivery speed, and platform reliability.
The role carries full accountability for engineering performance, including ownership of delivery metrics and operational KPIs such as deployment frequency, lead time to change, delivery predictability and team health.
A key aspect of the role will be to focus upon developing high-performing, autonomous teams by coaching and making hiring and performance decisions, and creating a culture where teams can execute independently without constant escalation.
The company is looking for someone who can embed AI-first practices across engineering to accelerate development, improve productivity, and reduce time to market. Responsibilities also include shaping cloud infrastructure and platform architecture, and ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Operationally, the role oversees engineering delivery processes, CI/CD, incident management, disaster recovery, security, and regulatory compliance, including ISMS standards.
To apply, you will have extensive engineering experience, including at least seven years leading large-scale engineering divisions. Commercially minded and execution-focused, you will possess strong enterprise B2B SaaS expertise, with good judgement in talent management, and a proven ability to quickly create momentum during periods of transition.
