Hybrid, 3 days per week

£40,000 - £80,000

Have you always wanted to work on an aircraft from first sketch to first flight? Would you like your ideas to be flying in weeks rather than sitting in a design review for years?

This innovator designs, develops and manufactures British-engineered unmanned aircraft systems and propulsion technology for leading defence and aerospace organisations. Everything happens under one roof: design, prototyping, testing and manufacturing. They're now building a brand-new UAV engineering team, and this role is at the centre of it.

The role

You’ll work on the aircraft as a whole system. You’ll be involved in platform development, integration and testing, working with hardware, software, avionics and mechanical engineers to get new aircraft off the drawing board and into the air.

What you’ll be doing

  • Developing next-generation UAV and autonomous aircraft platforms
  • Integrating airframe, propulsion, avionics, comms and payload systems
  • Supporting prototype builds, ground testing and flight testing
  • Troubleshooting issues across mechanical, electrical and software disciplines
  • Taking products from early concept through to deployment

What we’re looking for

  • Experience working on UAVs, drones, aircraft or other complex engineered systems
  • A practical, hands-on approach and enjoyment of time spent on the kit
  • Experience taking products through development, integration and test
  • Comfortable working across disciplines in a fast-paced R&D environment
  • Strong problem-solving and systems thinking

UAV experience is highly desirable but not essential. Transferable experience from aerospace, defence, automotive, robotics or similar environments is just as welcome, and we're open to engineers at all levels.

MUST BE SECURITY CLEARABLE - British Citizen or minimum of 5 years in the UK
