This cutting-edge engineering company is scaling up its engine engineering capability off the back of a major new programme, and we're looking for rotary engine and high performance powertrain specialists to join at both junior and senior level.
This is a rare opportunity to take real ownership of engine engineering in a small, high pressure, high performance environment, where your input shapes how the product develops rather than getting lost in a large team.
What you'll be doing
You'll take on hands on responsibility for the design, development, and troubleshooting of rotary style combustion engines (Wankel type, as found in cars like the Mazda RX-8), applying transmission and mechanical systems expertise to a genuinely unusual and technically demanding platform.
Expect a mix of design work, testing, and problem solving under real time pressure, with the freedom to make decisions and see them through.
What we're looking for
We're casting a wide net here, because the ideal skill set is rare and the strongest candidates often come from adjacent backgrounds.
You're likely to be a strong fit if you have
- A background in transmission or mechanical systems engineering, ideally on high performance or motorsport platforms
- Experience in Formula 1, top tier motorsport, or another high performance engineering environment where reliability and rapid iteration both matter
- A genuine aptitude for picking up unfamiliar, niche engineering problems quickly. There won't be time for a long ramp up period
- Direct experience with Mazda rotary engines (RX-7, RX-8, or similar) is a significant bonus but not a prerequisite. If you've got it, say so clearly, it will stand out
