Help protect, grow, and unlock the value of cutting-edge engineering innovation. Intellectual property isn’t a box‑ticking exercise here; it’s a core business asset. We’re looking for a part‑time IP Officer to deliver an established IP strategy and ensure innovation is protected, scalable, and investor ready.
This is a hands‑on, in‑house role focused on execution. The IP strategy is already defined; your mission is to bring it to life. You’ll work closely with the CTO and R&D leadership, embedded with the engineering team, identifying new IP, managing the patent process, and ensuring every filing adds real business value.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Delivering and maintaining an agreed IP strategy
- Working with engineers to identify new IP ideas and opportunities
- Managing invention disclosures, IP logs, and patent workflows
- Coordinating patent filings with external IP partners
- Supporting multi‑country IP activity for a globally scalable product
- Running prior art and Freedom‑to‑Operate (FTO) searches
- Keeping IP records investor‑ready
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience or strong interest in intellectual property
- A technical or engineering background (mechanical systems / 3D / manufacturing a big plus)
- Comfort working in a start‑up or scale‑up environment where products are actively being built
- Ability to collaborate with engineers and translate ideas into protectable IP
- Organised, proactive, and comfortable owning processes end‑to‑end
