Help protect, grow, and unlock the value of cutting-edge engineering innovation. Intellectual property isn’t a box‑ticking exercise here; it’s a core business asset. We’re looking for a part‑time IP Officer to deliver an established IP strategy and ensure innovation is protected, scalable, and investor ready.

This is a hands‑on, in‑house role focused on execution. The IP strategy is already defined; your mission is to bring it to life. You’ll work closely with the CTO and R&D leadership, embedded with the engineering team, identifying new IP, managing the patent process, and ensuring every filing adds real business value.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Delivering and maintaining an agreed IP strategy
  • Working with engineers to identify new IP ideas and opportunities
  • Managing invention disclosures, IP logs, and patent workflows
  • Coordinating patent filings with external IP partners
  • Supporting multi‑country IP activity for a globally scalable product
  • Running prior art and Freedom‑to‑Operate (FTO) searches
  • Keeping IP records investor‑ready

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience or strong interest in intellectual property
  • A technical or engineering background (mechanical systems / 3D / manufacturing a big plus)
  • Comfort working in a start‑up or scale‑up environment where products are actively being built
  • Ability to collaborate with engineers and translate ideas into protectable IP
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable owning processes end‑to‑end

Why This Role?

  • Direct collaboration with the CTO
  • High‑impact role shaping IP around real engineering innovation
  • Exposure to global IP strategy and filings
  • Opportunity to grow the role as the business scales
