This is a hands-on, standalone HR role focused on putting strong foundations in place to support growth. You will capture what currently exists, assess whether it’s fit for a scaling business, and build practical, scalable HR processes across the full employee lifecycle. The business is entering a key growth phase, with growth plans over the next 12–18 months and longer-term ambitions to expand internationally, including into the US. Maintaining the strong culture that exists today as the company grows is a top priority for the leadership team. This role suits someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, working closely with senior leaders, and building HR foundations that genuinely support people and performance.

What You’ll Focus On

  • Reviewing, documenting, and improving existing HR processes to ensure they support growth
  • Building simple, scalable approaches to recruitment, onboarding, training, performance, culture, and compliance
  • Partnering with the C-Suite and leadership team to maintain and strengthen company culture through rapid hiring
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to managers on people matters
  • Preparing HR foundations for future international expansion (US experience a plus, but not essential)

What You’ll Do

  • Own and deliver a pragmatic people strategy aligned to business goals
  • Manage the full HR lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, performance, development, employee relations, and offboarding
  • Ensure compliance with UK employment law and maintain clear HR documentation and policies
  • Manage external HR advisors and recruitment partners
  • Own HR systems and people data, providing clear insights to leadership

About You

  • Experienced standalone HR Manager / People Lead in a start-up or scale-up environment
  • Confident building HR processes from scratch and improving what’s already in place
  • Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law (US exposure desirable)
  • Credible, pragmatic, and able to influence senior stakeholders
