Graduate Electrical Engineer

Graduate Electrical Engineer

Full-Time On-site
F

Our client designs, builds and flies tactical UAVs for defence and security applications. The electrical team owns everything from power distribution and harnessing through to board level electronics and payload integration, and designs go from bench to flying hardware in months, not years. For a graduate, that means seeing your work leave the bench and actually fly, which is rare this early in a career.

The role

A genuine start in the discipline, not a rotation programme. You'll get real design ownership early, with senior and principal engineers backing you up as you learn. You'll be contributing to:

  • Power generation and distribution across the aircraft
  • Navigation and sensor interfaces
  • Board level electronics, including schematic capture and layout
  • Harness and connector design
  • Bench testing, integration and supporting flight trials

What you'll bring

  • A 2:1 or above (or on track for one as a final year student) in electrical, electronic, mechatronic or systems engineering
  • Some hands-on lab experience, and a project or two you can talk through in detail
  • Curiosity about how things work in the real world, not just on paper
  • Any exposure to Altium, harness design or aerospace/defence projects is a bonus, but not expected

What's on offer

  • Bristol hybrid, minimum 3 days/week on-site
  • Β£30,000 per annum
  • 10% bonus
  • Pension matched up to 10%
  • Private medical insurance
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Occasional international travel to company sites
  • Eligibility for UK SC clearance is essential given the nature of the work

Mission-critical work on cutting-edge uncrewed aircraft technology, in a small, fast-moving team that gives engineers real ownership from day one.
