We are building a new UK-based communications engineering team to support advanced unmanned and autonomous platforms operating in complex defence environments. This role is focused on military and defence communications systems, combining hands-on technical depth with a systems engineering mindset. You’ll work across radio, SATCOM, and networked communications, supporting beyond-line-of-sight connectivity for unmanned aircraft and other autonomous platforms. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to new-to-market products in a fast-growing, mission-driven engineering environment.
What you’ll do:
- You will design, integrate, and support secure, resilient communication systems for unmanned and autonomous platforms, working closely with systems, software, and platform engineering teams.
- Design and integrate military radio communication systems.
- Work on SATCOM and BLOS communications.
- Develop and support networked and meshed communication architectures.
- Integrate communications across unmanned platforms (UAS / AUVs).
- Support RF-based communication performance and capability.
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams with a communications-led focus.
What you’ll bring:
- Background in communications engineering within defence or aerospace.
- Experience with military radios, RF systems, and SATCOM.
- Knowledge of networked / meshed communication systems.
- Systems engineering experience with a communications specialism.
- Exposure to unmanned or autonomous platforms (UAS / AUVs) desirable.
Nice to have:
- Any technical experience with tools like SATIN or ZODIAC.
