As a Quantum Photonics Engineer, you’ll contribute to the design, simulation, fabrication and experimental validation of advanced quantum photonic integrated circuits, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to develop cutting-edge technologies from concept through to deployment.

  • Design and optimise quantum photonic integrated circuits.
  • Develop and model integrated photonic architectures for quantum networking applications.
  • Support fabrication and tape-out activities with semiconductor foundries.
  • Build and operate laboratory test setups for characterising quantum photonic devices.
  • Analyse experimental results and use data to refine future designs.
  • Collaborate with engineering and research teams to develop practical, manufacturable quantum technologies.

We’d love to hear from candidates with experience in areas such as

  • Quantum photonics or integrated photonics.
  • PIC design and simulation.
  • Nonlinear optics, single-photon technologies or quantum optical systems.
  • Silicon photonics, silicon nitride, indium phosphide or other integrated photonic platforms.
  • Optical laboratory testing and experimental characterisation.
  • Python, MATLAB or similar programming for modelling and data analysis.
  • A background in quantum optics, photonics, physics or electrical engineering.
