Senior Product Development Engineer Bristol (Advanced Manufacturing | Electromechanical) This will we be working within a fast-growing advanced manufacturing technology business developing highly sophisticated robotic and automation systems for customers across aerospace, defence, automotive, and other engineering sectors. As part of their continued growth, they are looking to hire a Senior Product Development Engineer to help develop, test, validate, and improve complex mechatronic products while also driving improvements across the wider product development lifecycle. Key responsibilities: Develop new mechatronic products from concept through to production Lead testing, validation, reliability, and performance assessments Investigate technical issues and drive continuous product improvement Work closely with mechanical, electrical, software, firmware, and production teams Help mature engineering processes and product development standards as the business scales What weโre looking for: Experience developing automation equipment, robotics, industrial machinery or other complex electromechanical systems. Strong system-level fault-finding and troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and panel documentation. Experience integrating mechanical, electrical and control systems. Experience in product lifecycle testing and validation. Capable of understanding a broad range of technical information including electrical systems, CAD data and technical drawings. Solid understanding and application of FMEA, RCCA, DFM, DFA and continuous improvement tools. Ability to operate independently and take ownership of technical work packages and product issues.
