About Future Survival
Future Survival is an activity centre in Gravesend offering laser tag, gaming, Nerf, archery, shooting activities, parties, clubs and education programmes.
We welcome families, schools, youth groups and businesses.
We are developing our school visits, team-building bookings and training programme, and we are looking for a Centre Manager to help us run a reliable, welcoming centre and support that growth.
About the role
This is a hands-on role combining activity delivery, team management and business development.
You will regularly lead activities and parties, supervise participants and work directly with customers.
You will also have scheduled administration and planning time within your contracted hours to organise the team, prepare bookings and follow up enquiries.
You will report to the Owner/Director and manage the supervisors and activity hosts.
Your role is to make sure the centre runs smoothly, staff know what they need to do and customers have an enjoyable experience.
You do not need to arrive as an expert in every activity.
You do need experience leading people, confidence managing groups and a willingness to learn our activities and complete the relevant training.
- Your responsibilities
- Activity delivery and customer experience
- Personally run activities, parties and group sessions following training and competency checks.
- Give clear safety briefings, engage participants and manage groups confidently.
- Support reception and customer service during busy periods.
- Deal with routine customer concerns professionally and escalate significant issues appropriately.
- Help create an inclusive environment for customers with different needs and abilities.
- Running the centre
- Prepare rotas and allocate work within the agreed staffing budget.
- Make sure bookings have suitable staffing, equipment, space and preparation.
- Oversee opening, closing, cleaning, stock checks and maintenance reporting.
- Ensure each shift has a clearly identified duty person and a proper handover.
- Keep booking information, customer records and operational systems accurate.
- Follow safeguarding procedures, risk assessments and relevant food safety requirements.
- Leading the team
- Set clear expectations and follow up on agreed tasks.
- Support induction, practical training and development.
- Coach supervisors and hosts, including supporting a trainee supervisor where appointed.
- Build cross-training so essential activities and processes can be covered by more than one person.
- Address everyday performance concerns with support from the Director and designated HR support.
- Bookings and business growth
- Ensure telephone and email enquiries are answered and followed up.
- Turn suitable enquiries into confirmed bookings through clear information, timely quotes and follow-up.
- Develop team-building and private-group bookings.
- Coordinate school, youth-group and education enquiries with the supervisors.
- Support the administration and promotion of our developing first-aid course programme.
- Work with the Director and marketing support to promote available activities and encourage repeat bookings.
- Review booking performance, staffing costs and agreed targets with the Director.
- What we are looking for
- Experience supervising a team and running customer-facing shifts.
- Strong organisation and the ability to follow tasks through to completion.
- Confidence leading activities and communicating with groups of children and adults.
- A practical approach and willingness to work alongside the team.
- Good customer service skills and confidence handling enquiries and complaints.
- An interest in developing bookings and improving business performance.
- Confidence using email, booking systems, digital rotas and basic spreadsheets.
- A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and safe working.
- Availability for the agreed evening, weekend and school-holiday working pattern.
Experience in leisure, hospitality, events, retail, education or a similar setting is welcome.
Experience with school groups, parties, team building or staff development would be particularly useful.
Relevant first-aid, safeguarding or activity qualifications are desirable. Activity-specific training and development needs will be agreed during induction.
Pay and performance bonus
You will also be eligible to earn a performance bonus of up to £500 per quarter, giving a maximum annual bonus of £2,000.
The bonus will be linked to agreed financial targets that reflect income after delivery costs, alongside operational, customer-service and safety standards.
Targets will be agreed in advance, with progress reviewed regularly.
Bonus payments are not guaranteed and depend on meeting the written scheme's eligibility and performance conditions. Full details will be provided before appointment.
- What the role offers
- Guaranteed weekly hours.
- Scheduled administration and planning time within your contract.
