A professional and established Asbestos Consultancy are now seeking to take on an Asbestos Lab Analyst to join their longstanding lab in the South Coast area. The successful candidate will possess the BOHS P401 qualification and will have experience using PLM and stereo microscopy to carry out bulk sample analysis. You will have previous experience working for a UKAS accredited Asbestos Consultancy and will have excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a busy & fast paced environment.
Consideration will be given to candidates from: Southampton, Waterlooville, Portsmouth, Havant, Winchester, Chichester, Eastleigh, Romsey.
Experience & Qualifications:- Holding the BOHS P401 is essential to the role.
- Will have experience working hands on within an established UKAS accredited Asbestos Lab.
- Excellent understanding of HSG 248 guidelines.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Receiving asbestos samples, ensuring to log all samples onto internal systems in a timely manner.
- Safely storing and correctly labelling samples.
- Safely preparing samples for analysis.
- Using PLM and stereo microscopy to carry out bulk sample analysis.
- Completing analysis certificates upon completion of analysis, ensuring to submit to clients efficiently.
- Routinely calibrating equipment to ensure accuracy of samples.
- Ensuring to follow safe working practices & keeping the laboratory tidy.
- Working in line with HSG 248 guidelines.
- Helping maintain the companies UKAS accreditation.
- Liaising with clients, providing excellent technical support and advice when required.
