Water Treatment Engineer / Plumber – Wigan

Job Description

Our client is a reputable water treatment company known for their expertise in delivering outstanding water treatment, water hygiene and legionella services to clients nationwide.

We are looking for a professional and versatile Water Treatment Engineer/Plumber based in and around the Wigan area. The successful candidate will be a qualified remedial plumber and will have experience in delivering water treatment/water hygiene duties in line with the ACOP L8 regulations. Applications will be considered from Leigh, Bolton, St Helens, Chorley and the surrounding areas.

Experience

• Extensive experience working as a Water Treatment Engineer within the water treatment industry.
• Hands on experience carrying out remedial plumbing to a mixed portfolio of sites.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing would be advantageous.
• Fully conversant with Health & Safety procedures/legislation and the water treatment industry.
• Ideally comes from a good chemical, technical and educational background.
• Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Package.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Duties Will Entail

• Carrying out cleaning and chlorination on both hot and cold-water systems, boilers, cooling towers, shower heads and flushing.
• Descaling, disinfection and tank cleans and dosing.
• Carrying out temperature monitoring, conducting routine sampling and analysing water systems and interpreting the results.
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on all dosing equipment as and when required.
• Completing worksheets for work carried out appropriately.
• Building and maintaining a good rapport with the company’s mixed portfolio of clients.
• Collating and providing accurate reports.
• Visiting sites as per client’s requirements.

The successful post-holder will be versatile, flexible, have a good work ethic and be able to carry out the work effectively and within timelines and must be flexible with regards to travelling.
