Legionella Risk Assessor / Water Hygiene Engineer
Location: St Helens, Merseyside
Salary / Benefits: £24k – £35k + Training + Benefits
We are a reputable Water Hygiene / Legionella management company with a leading presence in the North West region. We are seeking a qualified and experienced Legionella Risk Assessor / Water Hygiene Engineer to manage a mixed portfolio of sites alongside our established team. The role is ideal for someone who wants to their own client portfolio and gain experience with complex process systems and cooling towers.
Experience & Qualifications
- Holding an industry relevant qualification (e.g., City & Guilds / WMSoc in Legionella Risk Assessment)
- Extensive experience as a Legionella Risk Assessor and/or Water Hygiene Engineer for an established company
- Extensive knowledge of HSG 274 / ACoP L8 guidelines
- Good IT skills
- Strong communication and organisational skills
Responsibilities
- Carry out legionella risk assessments on hot and cold-water systems
- Create and work from site-specific schematic drawings
- Routine water sampling and temperature monitoring
- TMV servicing and failsafe testing
- Produce detailed legionella reports and management plans, ensuring implementation of required actions
- Flushing of calorifiers and cleaning of CWST units
- Conduct closed system sampling and analysis, dosing with correct chemicals
- Work in line with HSG 274 / ACoP L8 guidelines
- Complete onsite logbooks
