Level of Experience: Trainee Asbestos Lab Analyst through to Lead Asbestos Lab Analyst
Profile: An established, multidisciplinary Environmental Company with a national presence. The client is looking for an organised and self‑motivated Asbestos Lab Analyst based in and around the Derby area. The ideal candidate will hold the B.O.H.S. P401 qualification and have a proven track record in a laboratory setting within the asbestos industry. P403 and soil analysis training can also be offered. Applications will be considered from: Burton Upon Trent, Long Eaton, Nottingham, Ilkeston, Loughborough, Swadlincote, Litchfield, Cannock, Stafford, Tamworth.
Experience & Qualifications
- Must hold the BOHS P401 qualification.
- Extensive experience working within the asbestos industry in a laboratory setting.
- Excellent attention to detail and thorough understanding of HSG 248 Guidelines.
- Competent in using TEAMS / TRACKER systems.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Possessing P401/P402/P403/P404 or S301 CCP is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Log all samples upon arrival at the lab and ensure they are stored correctly.
- Prepare all samples for fibre content analysis.
- Analyse samples using PLM and stereo microscopy.
- Enter all findings into internal databases accurately.
- Complete analysis test sheets and reports, ensuring they are uploaded within agreed timeframes.
- Liaise with clients and build excellent rapport.
- Ensure all work is conducted in line with HSG 248 Guidelines and maintain safe, clean working practices.
