We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the Facilities Manager in looking after the building and grounds at Cornwallis Academy, New Line Learning Academy and Tiger Primary School. You will be responsible for a wide range of duties including maintenance, cleanliness and security of the school building and grounds. Our core operations run Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 10:00pm, with additional lettings taking place at weekends. This structure gives us real flexibility to shape the role around the right person.
Responsibilities
- Regular maintenance of the site ensuring it remains clean and accessible at all times.
- Unlocking the premises in advance of the school day and securing the premises at the end of the day.
- Carry out day to day repairs / maintenance of the buildings.
- Be part of the alarm callout rota as required, so access to a vehicle is essential.
- Assist with events and general running of the schools.
- In conjunction with the Facilities Manager, organise external contractors to undertake maintenance work that cannot be carried out in-house.
Qualifications/Skills
You will be a responsible individual who takes pride in your day-to-day work. You will be very pro-active in attending to the needs of the school to ensure everything runs smoothly and be able to provide excellent customer service skills as well as having an awareness of health and safety issues. A good understanding of plumbing, electrical systems and DIY would be desirable.
