STRUCTURAL DESIGNER - CORRUGATED PACKAGING
WEST MIDLANDS
SALARY GUIDE: Β£35-40K + 25 Days Holiday
HOURS: Monday to Thursday (9am till 5pm) & Friday (8:30am till 4pm)
Our client is an industry leading Corrugated Sheet Plant and Packaging materials supplier, providing a full packaging solution to a variety of markets throughout the UK, specialising in bespoke corrugated packaging. They also supply a full range of consumables.
They are currently recruiting a Structural Designer to join their design department, taking on the role of the site's sole and lead designer.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate an AG CAD table for design and production support
- Produce new structural designs based on customer briefs using Artios CAD
- Create and manage samples for customer approval
- Present design concepts directly to customers when required
- Order print stereos and die-cut tooling
- Receive, check and approve tooling and first-off production runs
- Collaborate closely with production and design teams to ensure commercial efficiency
- Provide hands-on production support for small runs using the CAD table
- Demonstrate proven constructional design experience (essential)
- Confident in dealing directly with customers
- Liaise effectively with the sales team, management and shop floor personnel
- Maintain a strong understanding of company capabilities, materials, and emerging technical developments
- Manage workload effectively with strong organisational and time-prioritisation skills
- Bring creativity, innovation, and individuality to design work
- Show enthusiasm and passion for design and innovation
