As part of the strategy around GoCompare's acquisition by Future, we're putting in a technology roadmap for re-platforming our domain around an API-first, cloud-based serverless architecture to become the leading PCW service. As part of this, we are looking to re-engineer our Salesforce Marketing Cloud technical approach to drive optimization and reuse.
The Senior Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engineer will play a critical role in developing marketing solutions that enhance our customer interactions and drive business growth. This senior position requires a combination of strategic planning and technical expertise to ensure the effective deployment and optimization of our Salesforce Marketing Cloud environment. Reporting to the Salesforce Automation Manager, you will define the technical specification of new features and services, and ensure that the team maintains and improves the existing codebase. You will ensure changes are scalable, tested, and developed following best practices. Working closely with Engineering, Product and CRM teams you will ensure that all campaigns, channels and products integrate reliably. You will also be expected to mentor engineers, junior/graduate engineers & trainee engineers, contributing to their growth and knowledge, and review their code. Your opinion matters within your role - your peers will look to you as a key player within the team. You will be expected to make key decisions that are in line with the technical roadmap & replatform, and be able to explain to other members of the wider team (both technical and non-technical) to support your decisions.
Experience that will put you ahead of the curve:
- Possess a deep understanding of SFMC's data architecture and contact mappings.
- Advanced SQL and Data Modeling: Beyond basic SQL, ability to perform complex queries and create sophisticated data models and audiences.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience working in an implementation facing environment delivering enterprise level solutions.
- Proficiency in AMPscript and SSJS: Skills in Salesforce Marketing Cloud's scripting languages to customise data handling and user experiences dynamically.
- Integration Expertise: Experience with integrating SFMC (Marketing cloud connect) with other Salesforce clouds (like Sales Cloud and Service Cloud) and external systems via API and SFTP protocols.
- Experience of HTML/CSS and JavaScript: For creating personalised and responsive email templates and cloud pages.
- A solid understanding of customer relationship management (CRM) and web based channels.
- Some knowledge of GDPR data governance policies and handling of PII data.
- Experience working with data views.
