Future plc has a portfolio of the world’s leading homes brands, from Homes & Gardens and Ideal Home to Livingetc, Homebuilding & Renovating and Gardening Know How. We have a dedicated team of editors and writers who create expert content to generate audiences on all of these sites.

This is a chance to take on the Editor in Chief role at Gardening Know How, one of the world’s biggest gardening websites.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Content Director, you'll deliver traffic and ecommerce growth, and support commercial performance across all platforms. You’ll lead the team to create industry-leading content across all aspects of gardening and all media channels. You'll be responsible for delivering best-in-the-market content in line with the brand strategy, delighting our target market and supporting commercial aims. You'll run the forward planner, content calendar and output planner, and work with central centres of excellence to train your team to be the best. You’ll be a figurehead for the brand, networking and building relationships with clients and industry contacts.

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve

  • Relevant editorial experience with a background in digital and print media
  • Understanding of principles of building audiences on websites and knowledge of different acquisition channels
  • In-depth knowledge of all the key content distribution channels
  • First-rate knowledge of editorial SEO and analytics
  • A strong understanding of and passion for homes and gardens, and an ability to write for American audiences
  • Excellent industry contacts
  • Experience managing freelance budgets
  • People management experience and ability to work as part of a broader senior management team and support the goals of others
