THE ROLE
Your responsibilities as an Assistant Engineer will include
- Travelling nationwide alongside experienced service engineers to maintain and service customers systems.
- Assisting with routine servicing, remedial works, and repairs across components including filters, UV disinfection units, control panels, pumps, and valves.
- Developing hands-on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering skills on a daily basis through practical on-the-job training.
- Carrying out technical safety checks.
- Adhering to strict site health and safety standards.
- Completing mandatory documentation accurately, including site safety checklists, confined space entry forms, and activity logs on the company CRM.
- Supporting head office operations by assisting with vehicle checks, workshop inventory, and equipment preparation between site visits.
- Delivering outstanding customer service on client sites and representing the business in a professional manner at all times.
- THE CANDIDATE
The ideal Assistant Engineer will be able to demonstrate the following key skills and experience:
- A full UK driving licence and the willingness to travel nationwide, staying away from home up to three nights per week.
- A genuine interest in or foundational knowledge of electrical systems, pumps, plumbing, or mechanical controls.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, self-motivation, and a practical, hardworking approach to physical tasks.
- Good computer literacy with confidence using standard Microsoft Office applications.
- An eagerness to learn and undertake fully funded qualifications, including CSCS, Working at Height, and Confined Space Entry.
