Future Prospects Group are delighted to be recruiting for a Bookkeeper for our accountancy client. Working on either a full or part-time basis, you will enjoy a varied role working within a small and friendly practice based in the heart of Newark.
Your responsibilities as a Bookkeeper will include:
- Daily usage of financial processes and systems
- Management of sales and purchase ledgers, client invoices and payments
- Maintaining accounts, verifying and posting transactions
- Reconciling and balancing bank and control accounts on a schedule agreed with each client
- Liaising with clients, suppliers and banking contacts
- Prepare and submit Self-Assessment tax returns and VAT returns
- Preparing schedules, statements and reports as requested by client or internal management
- Working closely with accountants to provide timely and accurate information for year-end accounting statutory reports
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal Bookkeeper will be able to demonstrate the following key skills and experience:
- Possess first-rate numerical skills
- Strong bookkeeping skills and previous experience in a similar role
- Solid organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, including relationship building with individuals across the business
- Highly computer literate with experience of accounting packages
- Ability to work quickly, accurately and to deadlines, using a logical and methodical approach
- Possess relevant or specialist qualifications such as AAT / ICB etc.
- Strong experience of using cloud-based accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero (current certification preferred) and DEXT
- Knowledge of Excel and other MS Office products
