We are recruiting for Manufacturing Production Line Manager

Location: Mansfield NG19 7JX
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, 44 hours per week
Salary: £35,000

About the role:

We are looking for individuals who are driven, reliable, flexible across shift patterns and committed to perform a designated role within the production department ensuring they contribute to the efficient, effective, and safe running of their area/line to fulfil the needs of the business.

Essential skills and experience

Duties will include but not limited to:

  • Developing and implementing production policies and procedures.
  • Delegating manufacturing tasks to ensure the team meets production deadlines.
  • Managing the efforts of manufacturing workers on the production floor.
  • Communicating expectations to production workers and appraising their performance.
  • Educating production team members about preferred occupational health and safety practices.
  • Establishing priorities to ensure the manufacturing team works most efficiently.
  • Addressing production problems as they arise.
  • Reporting on team performance to the production director.
  • Making recommendations about ways to improve employee efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Deliver KPI and quality with no fault forward
  • Nurturing cooperation and communication within the production team and other departments.
  • Work to a high standard to achieve consistence high quality products and liaising with quality manager or quality issues to get the product right for the customer first time
  • Delivery company training and initiatives as and when required
  • Experience in the Window and Door industry desirable although not essential

  • Ability to motivate people, give recognition to staff when things are going well, identify necessary areas of development and have managerial courage when communicating popular or unpopular decisions.
  • Be able to provide the best possible solution to problem solving or decision making by conscientiously testing things, examining facts, trying different alternatives, and thinking things through.
  • Can set clear objectives, monitor progress, take corrective actions, and control performance levels.
  • Be alert to changing situations, show flexibility in approach. Adaptability in difficult circumstances and continuously strive to achieve results.
  • Have the outlook to consider problems as challenges and collect information relevant to the problems. Be disciplined in ascertaining the root cause, identify and develop a practical solution, communicate the findings, and implement the action plans to resolves the issue
  • Previous experience within a glass manufacturing environment
  • Experience producing double glazed units
  • Knowledge of glass handling and processing techniques
  • Experience working with production machinery
