As a Senior Support Worker, you will play an essential role in supporting the day‑to‑day running of the home and leading by example in delivering high‑quality, therapeutic and child‑focused care. Working closely with the Deputy Manager and Registered Manager, you will guide and mentor Support Workers, promote best practice, and ensure that young people are cared for in a safe, nurturing and structured environment. This role is ideal for someone who wants to progress in their career and develop into future leadership roles. We are looking for a dedicated and resilient Senior Support Worker to join our children's residential team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a real difference to the lives of young people and is ready to take on additional responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high‑quality, consistent care in line with individual care plans, risk assessments and regulatory standards.
  • Lead shifts effectively, ensuring routines, structure and safeguarding responsibilities are maintained.
  • Support the management team with daily operations, casework, documentation and multi‑agency communication.
  • Act as a positive role model, mentoring Support Workers and contributing to their development.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with young people, supporting them to develop resilience, independence and positive life skills.
  • Assist in implementing behaviour support strategies, therapeutic approaches and de‑escalation techniques.
  • Promote education, health, emotional well‑being and positive activities for young people.
  • Complete accurate reports, logs and recordings to regulatory standards.
  • Uphold a strong safeguarding culture, ensuring the safety and welfare of young people at all times.
