About the role
We are looking for a writer to write news and features around investing and personal finance. Reporting to the Digital Editor, you will help us create content, come up with ideas, update our existing content to keep it \”evergreen\”, monitor the topics that are driving traffic or trending, optimise new and existing content and set up our daily newsletter. We are looking for someone who is comfortable researching and writing about personal finance, pensions, investments and property, and explaining these topics in plain English.
This presents an excellent opportunity for a writer in the early stages of their career and looking to make the next step in their career as a financial journalist. In the longer run there\’s a great deal of scope to shape the role according to your skills, and to develop your own profile as a writer. Experience that will put you ahead of the curve.
Expected salary: £25,000 – £31,000. This is a Hybrid role from our London Office, working three days from the office and two days from home.
Responsibilities
- Write news and feature stories around investing and personal finance.
- Create new content, brainstorm ideas, and keep existing pieces evergreen.
- Monitor traffic drivers and trending topics to inform content strategy.
- SEO‑optimise new and existing content.
- Collaborate with the audience team at Future to answer the public’s main questions.
- Support the development and distribution of daily newsletter content.

- Familiarity with SEO best practices.
- Passion for quality, timeliness, and accuracy.
- Strong research and writing skills in plain English.
