Role Summary

The role is a key senior finance position, reporting into the Group Commercial Finance Director with a strong dotted line to the Chief Revenue Officer, Executive VP of e Commerce and their senior leadership teams.

This role requires a strategic growth mindset, using data and insights to identify risks and opportunities for the division.

The Finance Director is the lead commercial business partner to the Global Ad Sales teams, with responsibility for ad sales revenue and related gross contribution for the division.

As a senior leader, you will drive and support continuing process improvement and best practice within both the Commercial Finance team and the wider finance function, developing and managing a team of commercial finance business partners and fostering an inclusive and growth mindset.

You will communicate at a C‑suite level, distilling important financial and operational data into insightful and succinct messaging.

Your evidence will demonstrate the ability to develop insights that drive strategic decision‑making at an executive level, exhibit a proactive problem‑solving attitude and commercial industry experience, and deliver complex information in a clear and easy‑to‑understand format.

Effective communication and collaboration across Finance, business leaders and operational teams, quick absorption and application of new information, successful management of team performance and the willingness to lead complex tasks are essential.

You will balance challenge and support across the organisation, prioritise workloads and initiatives to deliver timely results, and service business leaders in North America (Central Eastern Time GMT–5to-7hrs) while adapting working hours appropriately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial business partnership with Global Ad Sales teams.
  • Accountable for ad sales revenue and related gross contribution.
  • Lead all forecasting and budgeting for the commercial finance area.
  • Develop and manage a team of commercial finance business partners.
  • Drive process improvement, best practice and inclusive growth mindset across commercial finance and wider finance functions.
  • Communicate financial and operational data to C‑suite executives in concise, actionable form.
  • Provide insights that inform strategic decision‑making at the executive level.
  • Encourage problem‑solving, analysis, numeracy and leadership of complex or difficult tasks.
  • Balance challenge and support throughout the organisation.
  • Prioritise workloads and initiatives to deliver results in a timely manner.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Accountant CPA, ACA or ACCA.
  • Commercial industry experience.
  • Strong analytical, numeracy and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to present complex financial information clearly.
  • Experience managing conflict and delivering team performance.
  • Proactive, enquiring mind and willingness to take leadership of complex tasks.
