Key Accountabilities:

• Engineering Solution Delivery: Ensure implementation of engineering specifications, changes and modifications into production processes covering Rolling Stock, Signals & General Engineering. Act as the single point of contact for technical issues.
• Technical Query Resolution: Manage and resolve technical queries related to production, project delivery, and material procurement through collaboration with Central Engineering, suppliers, and project teams.
• Team Leadership: Manage a team of engineers providing technical support to workshop production areas.
• Documentation Management: Produce and oversee the creation of essential documentation such as Work Instructions and Bills of Materials to support overhaul and repair activities.
• Cost Estimation: Produce detailed estimates for activities based on customer specifications, including labour hours and material costs for accurate budgeting.
• Bill of Materials Development: Develop Bills of Materials aligned with customer specifications, drawings, and LUL standards, working closely with engineering and suppliers.
• SAP Master Data Maintenance: Generate and maintain SAP master data to ensure accurate material control and procurement processes.
• Project Delivery Oversight: Manage engineering teams to deliver large-scale projects, including coordination of support engineers on multi-million pound projects.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

Skills:

• A high level of numerical and analytical ability along with well-developed communication, negotiating and inter-personal skills. [Essential]
• Strong computer literacy and able to effectively use: Microsoft Word to manage complex layouts and control large-scale documents. Microsoft Excel to manipulate complex data.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines.

Knowledge:

• Degree/HND/HNC (or equivalent) in an applicable electrical/electronic/mechanical engineering subject. [Essential]
• A broad-based knowledge of general engineering principles. [Essential]
• A good knowledge of LUL rolling stock and/or Signals equipment.
• A good knowledge of CAD systems and engineering design principles and drawing standards as applied to LU design.
• A good working knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.

Experience:

• A proven record of having managed engineering solutions and teams.
• Demonstrated experience of implementing solutions to complex technical engineering issues across various engineering disciplines. [Essential]
• Demonstrated experience working in a regulated health and safety critical environment.

Additional Information: This is a safety critical role so you will need to get clearance from our Occupational Health team before you start.
