Overview of role
The Performance Officer will support the Capital Delivery (CD) and Streets & Network Operations (SNO) Directorates, working closely with internal teams and supply chain partners to monitor, analyse and continuously improve performance. The role is responsible for ensuring that robust quantitative and qualitative performance information is collected, analysed and presented in a meaningful way to support both tactical and strategic decision‑making, helping to drive improved contract and service outcomes.
Candidates should be numerate and analytically minded, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and translate performance insights into clear recommendations. It is essential that candidates are competent in preparing reports and translating complex data into an easy to understand format. This is a role that requires strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to work with a wide range of internal and external partners, often in complex and challenging environments. The successful candidate will be comfortable engaging with a variety of stakeholders, facilitating constructive conversations, challenging where appropriate, and maintaining positive working relationships. The role requires a proactive, can‑do attitude and a willingness to support colleagues and contribute to shared objectives. Strong communication skills are essential, as the postholder will regularly attend and contribute to meetings, present performance information, and build effective relationships across the business.
Key Accountabilities
- Collecting, analysing and validating performance data from internal teams, suppliers and systems to produce accurate KPI and performance reports.
- Monitoring data quality and compliance with contractual requirements, identifying discrepancies and working with stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Supporting the delivery of performance improvement initiatives, ensuring actions are clearly documented, assigned and tracked through to completion.
- Preparing and presenting performance information, insights and reports to support operational and strategic decision‑making.
- Supporting performance review meetings with internal teams and suppliers, helping to identify issues, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Monitoring supplier performance against contractual obligations and supporting the implementation of improvement plans where required.
- Maintaining records of contractual commitments and ensuring evidence is available to demonstrate compliance with agreed outcomes.
- Building positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, working collaboratively to influence outcomes, manage challenges and drive continuous improvement.
- Contributing to a customer‑focused culture by promoting high standards of performance, accountability and service delivery across CD/SNO and its supply chain partners.
