Overview of project/role
The Low Voltage (LV) Coordinator will support the Systems Manager to deliver a safe, reliable and efficient electrical power operational support across the London Trams (LT) network in accordance with regulatory and contracted obligations. The role will ensure the LV supply system and associated equipment is maintained within established tolerance levels through the systematic inspection and maintenance (planned and preventative) of the assets, documentation of inspections while recommending and implementing corrective action and management of the Low Voltage (LV) contractor to ensure that the assets are available for passenger service, as required, in line with company and statutory standards.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for ensuring that applicable London Trams IMS technical standards are being implemented through their briefing and dissemination.
- Advising the Systems Manager, where necessary, of inaccuracies or deficiencies that may become apparent through their implementation.
- Support LT in the delivery of contracted obligations by undertaking cyclical site safety inspections, maintenance and fault audits and reporting on all Low Voltage equipment.
- Supervise external resource as required where work and upgrade activities require additional people to ensure requirements are coordinated to required standards and/or specification.
- Plan and organise resources for all scheduled planned and preventative inspections and maintenance activities ensuring work arising is allocated correctly and defect resolution is achieved via the planning meetings and is reflected on the asset management system.
- Ensure resource (people, materials and equipment) levels and utilisation data is recorded and tracked through the Asset Management System to receive work orders, generate completed work returns.
- Provide shift reporting of activities from contractors or outsourced labour as required for escalation to the system manager or infrastructure manager for low voltage maintenance.
- Review, acceptance, and collation of accredited electrical documentation produced by statutory electrical inspection team.
- Primary LT contact for contractor to meet contractual obligation to provide technical interface.
- Liaison with multiple discipline asset management teams to facilitate Isolation planning.
- Participate in 1st line on call duties as required including site inspection and works risk assessments, access points coordination, incident response.
- Create and review safe systems of work in collaboration with suppliers of LV maintenance to control risks to health & safety.

- An HNC, or higher, in Electrical Engineering or relevant equivalent qualification, and/or qualified Electrical Inspector.
- Knowledge of the Electricity at Work Regulations (1989).
- Knowledge of the principles of electrical work.
- Knowledge of Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 (desirable).
- Knowledge of relevant technology as implemented on the tramway.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and their application to the tramway.
- Knowledge of the ROGS regulations and their application to the tramway.
- Knowledge of the principles of tramway / railway safety.
Experience
- Maintenance or renewals practices in relevant discipline.
- Experienced in the maintenance of records and maintenance of an audit trail.
- Experienced in the specification of works, upgrades or renewals.
- Experience of managing contractors, manufacturers, and suppliers.
- Use of Microsoft Office standard packages.
- Use of SAP or similar systems is desirable.
- Use of electronic asset management and collaborative working systems is desirable.
