The Opportunity
We're looking for a confident and influential SHE professional to support the safe delivery of one of the UK's largest and most complex transport asset portfolios. This role sits at the heart of London Underground Assets, partnering with Heads of Department, managers and operational teams to drive high standards of Safety, Health and Environment performance across a diverse and technically challenging environment. This is a genuine business partnering role. You'll be trusted to provide practical advice, challenge where necessary, influence decision-making and ensure SHE considerations remain embedded in both strategic and operational activities. You'll play a key role in incident investigations, assurance activities, audit programmes, procurement processes and regulator engagement, helping leaders understand risks and implement effective controls that support safe and efficient delivery. We're looking for someone who is equally comfortable in a leadership meeting, conducting assurance activities in the field, analysing performance trends or coaching managers through complex SHE issues.
What You'll Be Doing
- Acting as the SHE Business Partner to London Underground Assets teams.
- Building trusted relationships with Heads of, senior managers and key stakeholders across the business.
- Supporting business leaders to identify, manage and reduce SHE risks.
- Conducting and supporting incident investigations, ensuring robust learning and improvement actions are implemented.
- Delivering second‑line assurance activities and providing independent challenge where required.
- Supporting the audit programmes.
- Analysing SHE performance data, identifying trends and producing high‑quality reports that support informed decision‑making.
- Providing SHE input into procurement and supplier management activities.
- Supporting regulatory inspections and maintaining positive relationships with regulators.
- Coaching and developing managers to strengthen SHE leadership, accountability and ownership.
- Supporting the development and implementation of effective SHE management systems and governance arrangements.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen SHE culture and performance across the asset portfolio.

You will be a credible and adaptable SHE professional with strong communication and collaboration skills and the confidence to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Significant experience in a SHE Advisor, Business Partner or SHE Management role.
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and challenge constructively.
- Excellent communication, relationship‑building and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting managers and leadership teams with a wide range of SHE matters.
- Experience conducting or supporting incident investigations.
- Experience delivering assurance activities, audits or compliance reviews.
- Ability to develop, implement or improve SHE management systems.
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with a focus on building capability within operational teams.
- Experience analysing data, identifying trends and producing insightful reports.
- Strong understanding of risk management and assurance principles.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt within a complex operational environment.
- Experience within transport, infrastructure, engineering, utilities, construction or asset‑intensive environments.
- Knowledge of London Underground, rail or operational asset management environments.
- Experience supporting regulator inspections or regulatory engagement activities.
- Knowledge of procurement and supplier assurance processes.
- Experience working with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM).
- IOSH, IEMA or equivalent professional membership.
