Join Enfield’s Multi-Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT)

Enfield are looking to recruit experienced social worker managers/advanced practitioners as Lead Child Protection Practitioners in our newly formed MACPT

MACPT Lead Child protection Practitioner Full-Time Salary Range £57,375 - £72,777

Interviews Planned for W/C 05/10/26

The Enfield Multi-Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT) is a new model developed in response to national expectations for stronger, more consistent and timely multi-agency child protection decision-making. We are bringing together experienced practitioners from children’s social care, police, health and education so that information is shared earlier, thresholds are applied consistently, and decisive protective action is taken when a child is experiencing or is likely to experience significant harm.

Enfield’s vision is to establish a MACPT that is child-centred, compassionate, evidence-informed and closely aligned with Family Help, Child in Care and Care Leavers Services, ensuring families experience a seamless safeguarding response rather than fragmented intervention.

The Lead Child protection Practitioners will be accountable to the MACPT Service Managers and Head of Safeguarding, and must have significant experience of working to protect children at risk of abuse inside or outside of the home. Working closely with partners from education, police and health to deliver on all operational aspects of the MACPT, following national legislation and guidance, the local Enfield MACPT Operating Protocol and the local Enfield MACPT Quality Assurance and Outcome Framework.

As a Lead Child Protection Practitioner, you will be expected to meet the Lead Child Protection Practitioner (LCPP) standards from the Department for Education that set out the minimum knowledge and skills LCPPs are expected to have to effectively lead child protection processes. This includes being directly responsible for identifying and responding to actual or likely significant harm, engaging children and families during Section 47 enquiries, formulating the likelihood of significant harm and planning and intervening to prevent and stop actual or likely significant harm.

As a LCPP you will be expected to attend alongside partners the MACPT operational meetings and participate in planning and reviews of the MACPT. You will be required to evidence the success of the MACPT through excellent practice making robust decisions and taking action to prevent and stop child abuse.

We are looking for enthusiastic, able, experienced managers or advanced practitioners who are passionate about the social work profession and dedicated to safeguarding and protecting vulnerable children. You will need to evidence understanding of family safeguarding as this is the strength-based approach underpinning practice in Enfield.

This is a great opportunity to join an excellent service that works together with families to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people. Our leadership culture is grounded in openness, learning and shared responsibility, with a commitment to supporting staff with their wellbeing, alongside professional development and achieving best practice. You will be joining a service that has high standards, values professional curiosity, collective accountability and innovation, creating the conditions for everyone to do their best work to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.

Enfield is committed to supporting staff to develop their skills and you will receive high-quality support from an experienced manager and given opportunities to contribute to service developments.

Enfield’s Centre of Excellence confirms our commitment to creating and maintaining an environment for new and existing staff to be the best, delivering excellent practice to achieve good outcomes to our most vulnerable children and young people. It brings our recruitment, professional development and support into the one portal for staff to see what we have to offer and how we are supporting them to continue to learn and develop on a professional basis.
