We are a small group of 4* hotels based in South Wales and the South West of England. We have 3 hotels altogether based in Cardiff Bay, Bristol City Centre and Plymouth. All of our hotels offer large comfortable Canadian beds, conference and meetings centres and bespoke individual restaurant and bar areas. Our hotels offer a wide range of amenities to cater for both corporate and leisure guests; we have developed an excellent reputation within our locations boasting 4* hospitality at an affordable rate – our exceptional returning guest rate is testament to our staff and hotels.

The Role

We are currently looking for an Assistant Food and Beverage Manager. You will be reporting directly to the Food and Beverage Manager and deputise on behalf of them in their absence. You will have specific responsibility in the department for training front of house service delivery. The ideal candidate will already be an experienced supervisor in a food and beverage outlet, preferably within a hotel department and have considerable experience in large scale banqueting or events. You will be flexible, reliable, enthusiastic with a passion for hospitality and be able to work in a team and also independently. Our hotels and conference centres are busy establishments, therefore this is very much a hands on role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting Daily Operations – Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of restaurants, bars, room service, banquets, and other F&B outlets.
  • Staff Supervision and Training – Oversee team members, coordinate schedules, provide training, and ensure service standards are maintained.
  • Customer Service Management – Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Inventory and Stock Control – Monitor inventory levels, coordinate ordering, and minimize waste while ensuring adequate stock availability.
  • Food Safety and Compliance – Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and food handling regulations.
  • Financial Control – Assist with cost control, revenue monitoring, and achieving departmental financial targets.
  • Quality Assurance – Maintain food and beverage quality standards, presentation, and consistency across all service areas.
  • Event and Banquet Coordination – Support the planning and execution of meetings, conferences, weddings, and special events.
  • Vendor and Supplier Coordination – Work with suppliers to manage deliveries, product quality, and purchasing requirements.
