Are you a Senior Packaging Technologist looking to step into a role where you can influence packaging strategy, drive innovation, and lead major improvement projects across a market-leading FMCG manufacturer?
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK's leading food manufacturers, investing heavily in its people, packaging technology, and manufacturing capability.
You'll take ownership of packaging performance across a high-volume production environment, working on everything from material optimisation and packaging development to efficiency improvements, sustainability initiatives, and the introduction of new technologies.
Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and NPD teams, you'll play a key role in improving packaging performance, reducing waste, increasing line efficiencies, and delivering innovative packaging solutions that support long-term business growth.
Your Role As A Senior Packaging Technologist Will Include
- Leading packaging development and continuous improvement projects across manufacturing.
- Optimising packaging materials to improve performance, quality, and cost.
- Driving reductions in waste, downtime, and material losses across packaging operations.
- Supporting packaging trials, validation, and the implementation of new packaging formats and technologies.
- Working closely with production teams to improve packaging line performance and efficiency.
- Leading root cause investigations relating to packaging failures and quality issues.
- Collaborating with suppliers to identify new materials, innovations, and sustainability opportunities.
- Using production and packaging data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Supporting automation, process optimisation, and future packaging investment projects.
As A Senior Packaging Technologist You Will Have
- Experience as a Senior Packaging Technologist, Packaging Technologist, Packaging Development Technologist, Packaging Development Manager, or similar within FMCG.
- A background in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, personal care, or another fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of packaging materials, packaging processes, and manufacturing operations.
- Experience delivering packaging improvement, cost reduction, or packaging innovation projects.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- A passion for packaging innovation, continuous improvement, and delivering measurable business results.
