This role is intentionally aimed at experienced marine designers who already operate at ship scale and want to work in an environment where engineering judgement carries weight. The business operates with a small, highly experienced multidisciplinary team, delivering mechanical systems design alongside naval architecture and structures. Projects span large, complex vessels and superyachts up to ~10,000 tonnes, with work undertaken from concept through to detailed design and class approval. Staff turnover is low, standards are high, and technical credibility comes before headcount growth.
Your Role As A Senior Mechanical Marine Engineer Will Include:
- Ship-scale mechanical systems design across complex marine projects
- Producing clear, buildable design output using CAD / Rhino
- Technical ownership of assigned systems and deliverables
- Close collaboration with structural and naval architecture disciplines
- Applying engineering judgement across concept and detailed design phases
As A Successful Senior Mechanical Marine Engineer You Will Have:
- Significant experience in the marine industry
- Background in naval vessels, superyachts, cruise ships, or comparable complex shipbuilding
- Proven ability to design mechanical systems at full vessel scale
- Strong CAD capability (Rhino highly relevant)
- Comfortable operating without step-by-step supervision
- Ability to commute to the Southampton office
