Overview
Our client are a national main contractor with regional offices in Oxfordshire. They complete a mix of residential and commercial projects with values to £50 million, these are a mix of RC Frame, Traditional Build and are predominantly under JCT Design and Build contract.
They\\\’re now looking for a Design Manager to take the lead on a new scheme near Thame valued at £17 million. The role provides autonomy to deliver the role with one Assistant as a direct report and support above where needed from a Head of Design.
Role
As Design Manager, you’ll play a central role in delivering complex construction projects from initial concept right through to handover. Acting as the key connection between design, engineering, and site teams, you’ll ensure every technical element is delivered accurately, compliantly, and to the highest possible standard.
Responsibilities
- Managing all technical aspects to align with specifications, regulations, and internal benchmarks
- Building strong working relationships with architects, engineers, and subcontractors
- Reviewing and authorising technical drawings, plans, and related documentation
- Assisting in the sourcing and procurement of specialist materials and services
- Driving quality control to maintain excellence throughout the build
