Future Youth Zone, located in Parsloes Park in Barking and Dagenham, opened in May 2019 and has since established itself as a vital resource for the community. Open seven days a week, the Youth Zone offers young people access to 20 diverse activities every evening, including sports, art, dance, and cooking, for just 50p. Future Youth Zone provides a safe and engaging space where young individuals can learn, grow, and have fun. The organization is dedicated to empowering the next generation through meaningful programs and opportunities.

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Barking and Dagenham for a Fundraising Officer. The Fundraising Officer will focus on generating financial support by building and maintaining relationships with donors, identifying and securing funding opportunities, and organising fundraising campaigns and events. Responsibilities include writing compelling funding proposals, managing successful campaigns, and collaborating with the team to achieve fundraising goals.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and writing skills for crafting persuasive proposals and engaging with donors
  • Knowledge of philanthropy and charities to identify and secure funding opportunities
  • Excellent organisation skills to manage multiple projects, campaigns, and donor relationships effectively
  • Ability to establish and maintain partnerships with external stakeholders
  • Proven track record of successful fundraising initiatives is highly desirable
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Experience in working with youth-centered organisations or similar nonprofit environments is a plus
