Your Role in Building Brighter Futures

As a Teaching Assistant at Four Acres Academy, you will play a key role in contributing to the delivery of Futura’s mission statement of “Building the brightest future for all, enabling every individual to flourish”. Purpose of the role of a Teaching Assistant:

  • Under the supervision of the class teacher, undertake a range of directed activities to support the educational and development needs of pupils.
  • Assist teachers with the organisational and maintenance of classroom resources.
  • Contribute to the supervision and welfare of pupils throughout the school.

What You’ll Bring to Futura:

  • Good standard of education (5 x GCSE’s – English and Maths C or above) or equivalent qualification/experience (e.g. substantial experience as a Teaching Assistant).
  • Understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these.
  • Understanding of principles of child development and learning processes and in particular, barriers to learning.
  • Able to plan and implement effective actions for pupils at risk of underachieving.
  • A natural communicator with the ability to relate to both pupils and adults.
  • Demonstrate a passion for creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all members of our school community.
  • Aligns with our trust-wide values by bringing a positive, collaborative approach to their work and a willingness to continuously develop professionally.
