Our OEM Client based in Gaydon is searching for a System Integration Project Planner Lead Engineer to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a contract position with a proposed end date of 31st March 2027. Umbrella Pay Rate: £35.80 per hour.
The Opportunity:
The Central Systems Integration (CSI) team is responsible for integrating all customer features and functions into vehicle programmes. The team ensures seamless cross-functional collaboration across all phases of feature, systems, and software delivery—from requirements definition to test execution—enabling controlled and timely introduction of features into target electrical architectures.
The System Integration Project Planner Lead Engineer is accountable for the maturity, status, and delivery impact of customer features across vehicle programmes, ensuring readiness for programme gateways and final sign-off. The role translates programme requirements into clear, time-based delivery targets and ensures successful execution through collaboration, risk management, and issue resolution. The role also ensures transparency by consolidating stakeholder inputs into a clear view of feature availability and maturity aligned to programme milestones, while reporting KPIs and risks to stakeholders.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Understand programme feature content; ensure feature design progression is on track to meet programme requirements.
- Support timely cascade of feature/function demands to technical domains based on identified programme needs, escalating where appropriate.
- Facilitate resolution of any feature issues and roadblocks to achieve Final Engineering Sign-off to agreed date.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Lead timely delivery of vehicle features and remove integration risks and blockers.
- Align engineering domain delivery plans with programme milestones.
- Drive resolution of cross-functional integration issues.
- Collaborate with programme planners and Core VE teams to align plans.
- Identify and communicate dependencies, risks, and delivery glide paths.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes and reporting.

- Feature & Software Domain Product Owners & Integration Leads.
- System Integration Engineers, System and feature owners (peers leading other platforms).
- Cross Domain Feature Leaders and Central Systems Integration Functions.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:
- Thorough understanding of the Systems Design Life Cycle - system definition, system architecture development, requirements specification, design reviews, systems integration, system assessment and acceptance.
- Demonstrated experience of technical analysis and employing best-in-class processes in engineering.
- Excellent interpersonal skills – able to collaboratively influence delivery teams across the engineering function.
- Proven ability to interpret and use technical data along with business skills with technical decision-making including risk identification.
- Good working knowledge of Office 365.
Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience Requested:
- Experience of engineering product delivery using project management techniques.
- Experience of programme and project delivery processes including JIRA toolset use.
- Experience in the integration and delivery of electrical, electromechanical or software systems.
