Our OEM Client based in Gaydon is searching for a Technical Product Development Specialist to join their team on an Inside IR35 contract.

Umbrella Pay Rate: £33.64 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, interpret, and assess the impact of Global Automotive Regulations (e.g., UNECE, FMVSS, GSR, ISO) on vehicle features and systems.
  • Translate regulatory texts into clear, actionable engineering requirements and maintain ownership of these requirements throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring traceability and compliance.
  • Act as the primary liaison between regulatory bodies, legal teams, and engineering functions; ensure consistent understanding and implementation of regulatory requirements across all stakeholders.
  • Support programme teams in planning for regulatory compliance, including feature delivery timelines, validation strategies and documentation.
  • Track regulatory changes and assess their impact on existing and future vehicle programmes; lead updates to requirements and communicate changes effectively.
  • Work closely with Systems Engineers to ensure regulatory requirements are integrated into System Architectures and Validation Plans.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation required for certification and homologation activities.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Strong experience in interpreting and applying automotive regulations in an engineering context.
  • Proven track record in writing and managing technical requirements.
  • Experience working with regulatory frameworks (e.g. EU, UNECE, FMVSS, ISO standards).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with requirements management tools (e.g. Dassault TRM, IBM DOORS).
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering Principles and V-model Development Processes.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in Vehicle Homologation or Certification Processes.
  • Knowledge of feature development and integration in Automotive Systems.
  • Understanding of regulatory and safety requirements related to automotive features.

Education Required:

  • Graduate or postgraduate degree in an engineering discipline.
