Our OEM Client based in Gaydon is searching for an Engineering Release Specialist to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a contract position with a proposed end date of 31st March 2027. Umbrella Pay Rate: ÂŁ27.03 per hour.
The Release Operations team are responsible for the construction, release, and maintenance of the Bills of Material for all carlines and plants for the JLR business. The team supports each Engineering area (Tech centres). Engineering Release Specialists are responsible for specific areas of the vehicle. They have in‑depth knowledge of which parts/commodities are fitted to which vehicle specifications and markets, and frequently coach and support Engineering areas on how to construct an effective BoM for downstream consumption. They directly impact vehicle build quality and success at Manufacturing plants.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Ensure a timely and accurate BoM is released from Product Engineering to the wider internal and external business, by interpreting and analysing documents and discussions with CoC Engineers.
- Have an in‑depth knowledge of part usage and logic to ensure parts are correctly coded to support scheduling and build.
- Provide a focal point to customers and suppliers at the commodity level to ensure accurate & timely BoM release.
- Liaise extensively with Engineering, Manufacturing customers, and industry partners while demonstrating excellent self‑motivation, enthusiasm, and a strong ethic of customer service.
- Manage workload to support programme timing, key project dates, and departmental targets.
- Support Early BoM, File Set Up & Validation events.
- Participate in local process improvement.
- Develop the skills & have the flexibility to provide holiday & sick cover for colleagues within your own team and other CoC's.
- Undertake any other work as directed by the line manager in connection with the role.
