Our OEM Client based in Gaydon is searching for a Cockpit Test & Development Engineer to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a maternity cover contract position with a proposed end date of 31st March 2027.
Umbrella Pay Rate: £27.03 per hour.
Key Performance Indicators:
- To successfully deliver final engineering sign-off of new cockpit content to programme gateway timing.
- To set up, monitor, track and report out development progression.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Checking all appropriate company standards are met throughout design maturation.
- Setting up the test and development plan for several new cockpit programmes.
- Managing RMDV (management tracking system) deck for respective programmes, setting and cascading targets to relevant areas. New system on XRAY & TRM in process of being rolled out.
- Following a detailed test timing plan.
- Creating and updating Bill of Materials for test parts.
- Obtaining quotes from suppliers and test houses to complete plan and liaising with value for money team to gain approval.
- Preparing parts for testing, evaluating results, resolving any problems arising, writing reports and filing back to RMDV.
- Liaising with the responsible supplier teams to ensure test plan is on track.
- Daily interface/programme communication will be to the Cockpit Module.
