Our OEM Client based in Gaydon is searching for a Mechatronics Engineer to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a maternity cover contract position with a proposed end date of 31st March 2027. Umbrella Pay Rate: £35.80 per hour.
Duties:
- Designs, analyses, modifies, and integrates robotics, automation, technologies and processes related to equipment and tooling for applicability to programs and products.
- Develops, implements, and tests preventative maintenance plans, interim solutions for damaged and unsafe equipment, and tooling.
- Investigates and documents engineering changes and controls equipment and tooling configuration in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Develops and recommends equipment reliability improvements through the application of reliability engineering tooling.
- Managing large projects or processes with limited oversight from manager.
- Coaching, reviewing and delegating work to lower-level professionals.
- Problems faced are difficult and often complex.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:
- Practical experience building verification and validation rigs for formal approval / sign off.
- Knowledge of using SysML and Matlab/Simulink for Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Experience in network architecture design/communication networks.
- Solid understanding of requirements definition and interface documentation required to support the development and acceptance of solutions.
- Complex issue resolution across various functional commodities for testing.
- Positive attitude, and willingness to get involved with tasks across the System Engineering lifecycle.
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences on sometimes complex issues, topics and engineering principles and practices.
- Ability to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style.
Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:
- Ability to analyse technical problems and provide pragmatic solutions.
- Experience of building and managing multiple relationships in complex stakeholder environments.
- Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, TRM, CATIA Magic System of Systems (MSOSA).
- Experience of working in the automotive industry.
- Experience of dealing with safety critical systems especially automotive.
- Knowledge / experience of Cucumber / Gherkin / Gitlab etc.
- Experience in complex electronics rig build preferred.
Essential Education Required:
- Degree in Engineering or other STEM subjects.
- Minimum: Degree in Electronics / Systems engineering.
Desirable Education Requested:
- Degree in System or Mechanical Engineering.
