Our OEM Client based in Whitley, Coventry, is searching for a Logistics Operations Engineer to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a contract position until 31st March 2026. Umbrella Pay Rate: £27.03 per hour. The PVO team, in which the Engineering Parts Logistics team are based, are a critical area within Product Engineering (PE) with an important role in the creation of prototype vehicles.  Working under the Product Engineering Operations (PEO) function, we are directly responsible for all prototype vehicles build Preparation.  Often seen as a key interface between Vehicle Programme, Vehicle Engineering & Manufacturing teams, PVO work to create a strategy for successful prototype builds and we are currently in an exciting period whilst the customer expand their product portfolio. The main purpose of this role will be to: Support pre-production builds by obtaining and maintaining delivery promises from external supplier. Ensuring delivery promises meet build requirements / escalating issues. Parts are owned from dispatch to receipt in storage locations and building supplier relationships is an integral part of the role while ensuring all NRP (Non-Released Parts) are delivered on time. Ensure all delivery promises are entered within 1 weeks of receipt. Ensure that 87% of parts for the first car of each schedule are received by MRD (More great products faster) There are zero build stoppages for all prototype builds for NRP\’s There are zero POF (Point of Fit) losses for all prototype builds for NRP\’s. All shipping collections for NRP\’s are on time using the most cost-efficient transport mode. Negotiate delivery dates with suppliers to support multiple prototype production builds for all new products and battery production. Support the engineering exporting material to suppliers to supply assemblies in line with prototype build requirements. Negotiate production slots with internal Tool Rooms and 3D printing operations within in line with prototype build requirements. Visit key suppliers to review delivery performance and opportunities to establish and improve supplier performance / relationship in line with Customer Love principles. Understand and adopt Agile philosophies and raise and overcome obstacles blocking on time supply from supply base. Roles and responsibilities: Work to and achieve objectives listed on the departmental scorecard. Work closely with teams within PE to ensure successful build events. Support any relevant prototype build activities. Chair supplier meetings to review part supply status and resolve any issues identified. Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested
