Our OEM Client based in Gaydon, is searching for a Lead Spatial Designer to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a contract position until 31st March 2026.

Umbrella Pay Rate: £33.64 per hour.

The candidate will be responsible for bringing Spatial Design to life through all human-made surroundings and settings.

The role requires a background in architectural/interior and furniture design and knowledge of how to support built environment projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creating design content to bring the creative element all spatial design to life (experiences. Retail, Events etc.).
  • Responsible for translating the essence of the brand, through compelling spatial projects that articulate and embed principles throughout built environments.
  • Engage and collaborate with external suppliers/agencies to ensure initial goal and requirements for all spatial projects are delivered.
  • Support development of designs through conception, execution, prototyping and verification, whilst consistently working at pace.
  • Understand human needs in all spatial projects, to translate and create spaces that drive maximum user impact and emotion through the design of events.
  • Consider global consistency, local relevance and desirability of each spatial project.
  • Ensure aesthetic integrity is maintained across all spatial projects.

Essential skills required:

  • A proven designer in spatial, with a credible creative / design background.
  • Innovative and creative, challenging convention and maximising resources available.
  • Ability to understand how a brand story can be depicted in a built space and create maximum impact.
  • Construction knowledge is preferable.
  • Strong visualising approach – know how to work in 2D CAD software (Autocad, Vectorworks and 3D CAD software (Autodesk 3DS Max, Cinema 4D, Rhino).
  • Progressive and pioneering in their ideas and approach to developing ambitious and realistic ideas.
  • Knowledge of design trends and styles and understanding of spatial balance.
  • Comfortable working across culturally and geographically diverse teams.

  • Adherence to project budget.
  • Project timing.
  • Support key spatial experience delivery timing.
