Our OEM Client based in Gaydon is searching for a CAD Engineer to join their team, inside IR35. This is a contract position until 31st March 2026.

Umbrella Pay Rate: £27.03 per hour.

The candidate will be involved in Computer Aided Design & Drafting (CAD/CAM/CAE) work focusing on the documentation, illustration, and digital modelling of engineering designs and processes, including:

  • Assessing engineering requirements and translating them into technical blueprints, drawings, layouts, and simulation models using CAD/CAM/CAE software or applying standard CAD/CAM/CAE techniques to digitize, edit, and revise engineering drawings of components, parts, and assemblies.
  • Customizing CAD/CAM/CAE software to model complex or unusual designs.
  • Creating digital prototypes and conducting design simulations to verify reliability/safety and optimize engineering processes.
  • Collaborating with product/manufacturing process engineers by recommending changes to component designs based on digital prototypes and design simulations.
  • May provide materials lists and cost estimates.

Responsibilities typically include:

  • Managing projects/processes, working independently with limited supervision.
  • Coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals.
  • Handling complex problems that may be difficult and sometimes challenging.

Specialization Match Note:

  • Para-Professional incumbents typically work on less complex engineering designs and processes than engineers.
  • Professionals may modify draft layouts/models created by engineers and CAD/CAM/CAE designers.
