Our OEM Client based in Dunton, Essex, is searching for a Technical Author – Body & Equipment Mounting Manuals to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a contract position until 31st December 2025 requiring 4 days onsite, 1 day working from home.
Umbrella Pay Rate: £33.64 per hour.
- Using a documented authoring method, update or create new technical content in Adobe In-Design.
- Must be familiar with Class Styles, Anchoring & Hyperlinks, Tables and Image flattening as a minimum.
- Use 3D CAD data from TeamCentre / VisMockup to create layered images in Adobe Photoshop and generate new content that explains the issue / changes with annotations as required.
- Import the new images/content into Adobe In-Design and create a draft BEMM document for review.
- Use the draft BEMM to consolidate input from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and agree the content for publication.
- When required, facilitate cross-functional discussions to broker an agreed consensus.
- Once approved by SMEs, update the Adobe In-Design file in the relevant section(s) of the BEMM.
- When authoring, consider the document will be translated into 7 x European languages, and remain customer focussed throughout.
- Work to the BEMM loading/capacity chart to manage updates and support the Senior Engineer.
Skills Required:
- Expert in Adobe In-Design.
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Catia 5, TeamCentre, VisMockup, SharePoint, Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Outstanding communication skills, both written & oral.
Experience Required:
- Adobe In-Design, Adobe Photoshop, TeamCentre, Vismockup.
Experience Preferred:
- Awareness of language translations when creating new content.
- Prior experience of our client\’s systems/tools.
