Our OEM Client based in Gaydon is searching for a Suspension Engineer to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a 12-month contract position initially until 31st March 2026, with the potential for further extensions.

Umbrella Pay Rate: £27.03 per hour.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Lead capability and statistical investigation of wheel alignment and ride height issues and improvements.
  • Deliver a robust glide path for gateway delivery (robust planning and delegation of tasks).
  • Understand and apply best practice industry wide (8D, six sigma).
  • Facilitate, plan and push resolution of cross functional platform Chassis issues management, resolution, and communication against program timing.
  • Play a supportive role in the Launch Quality Operating Standard (LQOS) including problem definition and root cause at each physical build phase.
  • Aide in removing any roadblocks to delivery.
  • Regularly lead cross functional teams to solve issues.

Skills:

  • Strong mathematical and Excel skills backed by a sound understanding of engineering principles.
  • Experience using Quality tools (8D, six sigma, Is/Is-not, Ishikawa diagrams).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills required to communicate across multiple business functions.
  • High levels of personal organization, high drive, self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn and introduce new methods to increase own and the team's effectiveness.
  • Experience of Chassis / suspension system articulation motion would be beneficial.
  • Experience in GD&T, minitab, CAD visualisation would be beneficial.

Education: Relevant Engineering Degree, or equivalent experience.
