Our OEM Client based in Gaydon is searching for a Senior Vehicle Integration Engineer to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a contract position with a proposed end date of 31st March 2027. Umbrella Pay Rate: £33.64 per hour.
Department: The Vehicle Package Engineering area is part of the Advanced Engineering department and is responsible for the Vehicle Package from concept to end of life, across all Land Rover and Jaguar products. Vehicle Package Engineering's main responsibilities fall into 3 areas:
- Definition and delivery of the overall Vehicle Layout.
- Assisting Component/System owners develop their components so that they fit into the Vehicle Layout.
- Protecting space in the Vehicle for the Customer and the articles they want to take with them.
The area wishes to recruit talented and enthusiastic engineers to ensure that our challenging targets are met on a range of vehicle projects.
Duties:
- Creation of vehicle concept proposals in the form of vehicle architecture package layouts.
- Creation of outline component and system proposals to further the vehicle package development.
- Definition and development of detailed vehicle packages at the whole vehicle or package zone level.
- Tracking and monitoring resolution of all geometric issues within a package zone.
- Mediation and negotiation between CoC areas to develop solutions for geometric issues within a package zone.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:
- At least 2 years' experience in product development within vehicle integration or packaging role.
- Experience of CATIA V5 & V6 for detail or packaging design and geometric integration.
- Well-rounded knowledge of chassis & propulsion systems and sub systems.
- Experience of negotiating solutions in an area of technical conflict.
- Experience of using benchmarking tools to support idea generation.
- Good communication skills - written, graphical and verbal.
- The commitment to deliver quality results in a flexible and dynamic team environment.
- A proven ability to work within strict timing constraints.
Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience Requested:
- Knowledge of structural integration first principles.
- System knowledge of EVs, EDUs & HV Battery Packs.
- Trained/Experienced using AGILE methodology and planning tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Understanding of project planning and delivery to plan.
- Knowledge of electronic-based parts listing and family trees.
- Working knowledge of Vehicle Packaging roles, Vehicle Engineering and CoC structures and responsibilities.
- Experience in presentation to peers and senior management.
- Experienced ENOVIA 3DX PLM System.
- Experience with CATIA V5 Vismockup / Digibuck (FORD C3PNG).
- Degree Level Education.
