Our OEM Client based in Gaydon is searching for a Vehicle Architecture Lead Engineer to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a contract position with a proposed end date of 31st March 2027. Umbrella Pay Rate: £33.64 per hour.

The position is responsible for the engineering integration process for vehicle architectures. Responsibilities include:

  • Design and develop the vehicle technical specifications and attributes across vehicle architectures.
  • Lead and resolve complex multifunctional engineering problems.
  • Be able to balance competing attributes and requirements to define the optimum engineering solution.
  • Analysis of current and future technologies and competitor products to ensure the future competitiveness of products by influencing strategies.
  • Coaching, reviewing and delegating work to lower-level professionals.

Problems faced are difficult and often complex.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:

  • Knowledge of whole vehicle engineering and cross-functional vehicle systems.
  • Enthusiasm for vehicles and their development.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interpret technical information.
  • Good IT literacy e.g. ability to create and manage presentations and spreadsheets.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience Requested:

  • Previous experience of whole vehicle development and validation.
  • Previous experience of problem-solving tools, e.g. Six sigma methods.
  • Previous experience of leading technical issue resolution.

Additional Information:

Hybrid working: We are in the office as a Team on Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus others as and when required/agreed. A typical working week would be >50% in the office including all day Tuesdays and Thursdays.
